01.31.12 - Elizabeth Silva, Reading Partners

Elizabeth will be talking about "Reading Partner's Outreach."
 

18 months ago Elizabeth started as a volunteer tutor for Reading Partners. She loved the organization so much that she decided to work for them. She was hired as a "Site Coordinator" at one of our elementary school in SF. She was hired on as the Executive Assistant to the CEO and that is her job today. Before Reading Partners, Elizabeth was a newspaper, magazine, and telephone book publisher in Brentwood where she also served as the First female Rotary President. Elizabeth was a Rotarian for 10 years.

01.24.12 - Kish Rajan, City Council Member  

Kish will be discussing the current state of Walnut Creek and taking questions.

After graduating from UC Berkeley, Kish began his public sector career on Capitol Hill as an aide to United States Senator Barbara Boxer and then later at the California State Capitol as a campaign aide to Phil Angelides who went on to become California State Treasurer.

Hannah is a recent graduate of UC Berkeley and has traveled to Pueblo Kichwa numerous times. Hannah will be speaking about the indigenous children of Ecuador.

01.03.12 - Thomas A Gonda, Jr. MD, "The Brain, The Mind, and The Unconscious" 

Thomas A. Gonda, Jr., M.D. is presenting a talk: "The Brain, The Mind and The Unconscious" The talk will discuss brain structure/function, theories of the mind and the psychology of community service organizations. Dr. Gonda graduated from HarvardCollege, Stanford University School of Medicine, and JFK University School of Professional Psychology. Thomas is a licensed psychotherapist. He explores the thoughts, emotions and relationships of individuals, couples and families. Website: www.thomasgonda.com.

 Dr. Gonda's busy community service work includes:  Free and Accepted Masons, Shriners, American Red Cross, Black Rock City Medical Services and youth soccer referee.  He is also married, father of teenagers, and a working musician.
